What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser to remember information between visits, from your preferences to identifiers that make it possible to track your browsing.
Types of cookies
To help you place what follows, cookies are usually classified as follows:
- By who manages them: first-party (installed by the owner of the website) or third-party (installed by another entity, such as an advertising platform).
- By purpose: technical or necessary (essential for the website to work and be protected), preference (they remember your settings), analytics (they measure how the website is used) and advertising (they personalise ads and track your browsing).
- By duration: session (deleted when you close the browser) or persistent (they remain for a defined period).
What I use here: no tracking cookies
julio.works does not install first-party or third-party cookies for preference, individual analytics, advertising or tracking purposes. The website’s analytics (Umami, running on my own servers) works without cookies and with aggregated data, without identifying visitors. If you do not want Umami to count your visits, store the key umami.disabled with the value 1 in your browser’s local storage: the script reads it and stops counting.
Technical storage
Cloudflare, the infrastructure that protects and serves this website (including the anti-spam verification of the contact form, the AI agent and the newsletter), may use strictly technical and security cookies or local storage, essential to provide the service you have requested. A common example is the __cf_bm cookie, which Cloudflare uses to identify malicious automated traffic and which expires after 30 minutes.
The AI agent on the contact page keeps the ongoing conversation in your browser, in session storage, so that it is not lost if you reload the page; it is deleted when you close the tab. If you dismiss the agent’s privacy notice, the browser remembers that choice in local storage so that it is not shown to you again.
Because it is strictly necessary, this type of storage is exempt from consent under Article 22(2) of the LSSI-CE and the guidelines of the Spanish Data Protection Agency.
Where you came from
When you open the website, the browser stores in session storage the page you entered through, the site you came from and, if there was one, the campaign in the link. That data does not leave the browser unless you write to me through the form or the agent. In that case it travels with your enquiry, so that I know where it came from, and it is deleted when you close the tab. It identifies no one and cannot be used to follow you between visits.
That is why there is no banner
I do not ask for your consent to cookies because there is nothing to consent to. If I ever add tools that use cookies for other purposes, I will update this page and ask for your consent before activating them.
How to manage cookies in your browser
You can block or delete cookies from your browser’s privacy settings. These are the official instructions for the most common browsers:
Please note that blocking technical storage may prevent the contact form, the AI agent and the newsletter from working.
